The Dock Disk – anti-mussel technology that will repel and control zebra and quagga mussels around your boat, slip, dock or marina on any freshwater lake

There are many applications for the Dock Disk, however, it was primarily designed to protect your boat and slip from the build up of Quagga and Zebra mussels.

Marina

In this video shared by Engbretson Underwater Photography, zebra mussel build up can clearly be seen

Here again, we see in this video shared by the Texas Parks and Wildlife that the build up is occurring on boats while in their slips.

What you see in the videos is why you need the Dock Disk

The Dock Disk

The Dock Disk is very safe and simple to use. The toughest part of the process is cleaning the mussel build up off of what you want to protect. With continued use of the Dock Disks, this will be your only time to scrape clean the area to be protected. The continued protection is carried out by simply changing out the disks every six months.

The Dock Disk is designed to  be 3 1/2 feet to 4 feet below the surface of the water. The hanging system allows the Dock Disk to be secured above the surface while the weight bag puts just enough weight in place to hold the disk below the surface allowing it to gently move with the flow of water. This assures the best possible coverage from the disk.

The effective radius is anywhere from 7 to 8 feet. For example, a 40′ slip would require 6 disks for total boat and slip protection.

Follow the 3 step process:

  1. Thoroughly clean the affected area

  2. Deploy the Dock Disk

  3. Replace every 6 months

Hanging Instructions

DD System 2

1) Pull the Dock Disk assembly from clear plastic shipping bag

2) Insert the golf balls into the mesh bag

3) Insert the Dock Disk into the mesh bag

4) Pull draw strings in center of mesh bag and connect carabiner

5) Tying Off, determine desired length of cord and tie a loop at each end. Connect to carabiner attached to mesh bag and second carabiner

The Dock Disk

*The Dock Disk should be 3 1/2 to 4 feet beneath the surface

Note:

If the Dock Disk System is physically attached to the boat, pull them out of the water before trolling or motoring away.

Caution: Traveling at high speeds could damage the Dock Disk and/or its hanging system, resulting in possible loss or effectiveness of the product.

When at anchor, simply place the Disk in the water to provide protection against Zebra and Quagga mussels.

*Store the Dock Disks in a cool dark environment until ready for use*

*NOTE* This is a foam based product and WILL take some time to saturate and sink

  • You may want to gently, without squeezing, hold the disk underwater to help begin the saturation process
  • Or simply place the disk in the bag it came in by itself, add 8 oz of water, seal the bag and let it saturate – about 2 hours. Once saturated, take it out of the bag and connect it to the hanging system – pour any remaining water out around where the disk is placed

Calculating Your Need

Please use the following information to calculate the coverage you require for your boat and infrastructure.

With an effective radius of each disk anywhere from 7 to 8 feet, the average 40′ slip will require 6 Dock Disks

Not Just For The Dock

The technology also has the ability  to be customized for many applications including water intake systems both large and small.
